My literary work is about observation and reaction to
the world I see and feel around me

I Am

I am Hell
The fire of anger and wrath
I am love
Mother, Father
Grandmother, Grandfather
I am the wind
Uplifting and free
I am the sea
The mermaid's delight.

I am willow
Weeping with sorrow and joy
I am sugar and spice
But not always nice
I am a bookworm
Though the words drift round
I am a wounded animal
Sacred, roaring loud.

I am the traveller
Here, to Wales and Home
I am burdenless
No generations to come.

Cw hound dog

Dih dah Dih dah
That little key taps,
The fist in rhythm
Round the world in laps.

I know I can tune
To that bug far away.
Their tone so clear
Their signal ok.

So now practice is over
Another call in the log,
But the grey line keeps calling
I'm a bit of a cw hound dog.

Royal Hospital Chelsea

Come to me old soldier
Old-faced and tender
Your watch is done
Your service never surrendered.

In defence of all
We honour your sacrifice
To await your welcome
At the old soldier’s paradise.

This home is your reward
No matter broken spirit
It is our accord
For you to have this merit.

So, walk these halls
As veterans before
In scarlets of red
Always to be cared for.

Ireland Ireland

Ireland, Ireland, green and sad
Woes so many lost in time.
So much to offer
Yet so often spurned.

Ireland, Ireland, my heart beats strong
Yet it cries for you
As bitter scars arise.
And your land once so gracious
Is left only with its sorrows.

Ireland, Ireland, a spirit so strong
Past despised, Future unsure.
Yet your spirit is stronger
And the mystical emerald isle
Worshipped by my heart, shines brighter.
